Learning objective(s):
By the end of the course, the students will be able
- To demonstrate the advanced knowledge and deep understanding of all areas which are pertinent to clinical practice of UK and USA equivalence
- To learn how to recognize a dental or an oral disease and enable them to make differential diagnoses and proper treatment planning and management protocol.
- To be competent in undertaking restorative procedures through hands-on training on manikin followed by patients
- To communicate with patients by avoiding medical/dental jargons and maintain the professional dignity among the peers/team
- To manage the medical emergencies in dental practice
- To prescribe drugs with appropriate doses
- To write a referral letter to a physician and dental specialist when needed
- To handle litigation issues and indemnity as per statutory body of the country

Phase A. Prevention of cancer
(i) Education Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer (of high prevalence rates, such as- Lung Cancer, Cervical cancer, Oral Cancer, Prostate cancer, Bowel Cancer and Breast Cancer)
(ii) Screening for early detection, mainly using non-invasive techniques
(iii) Community Involvement in Cancer Prevention for awareness development and early reporting
(iv) Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) – clinical
Phase B. Control of cancer
(i) Appropriate treatment management strategies for reducing the risk of complications and co-morbidities
(ii) Ensuring strategies for better prognosis
(iii) Cost-effective management strategies of palliative care services
Objectives:
Strategies and actions on-
- Possible preventive measures for not starting cancer (primary Prevention).
- Reducing the rate of cancer progression and complications once started (Secondary Prevention)
- Increasing the duration for cancer survivors
- Ensuring quality of life (QoL) after treatment and palliation.
Course Learning Outcome:
At the end of the course, the candidates will acquire knowledge and skills to help develop strategies and policies for the clinicians, and policymakers for prevention and control of cancer at treatment centers and communities.
